Jon T. Schreiber, M.D.,
F.A.C.S.
Dr. Schreiber graduated from the University of Texas at Austin
with a B.A. in Zoology. He received his Doctor of Medicine
from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston
and completed an internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin,
Texas. He completed residency training in ophthalmology at
the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Dr.
Schreiber also worked as an emergency physician in the Houston
area and in Amarillo for a year and a half, gaining extensive
trauma experience.
Tyler has been the Schreiber home since 1979.
During this time, Dr. Schreiber has been engaged in solo private
practice until becoming a founding member of Eye Care Associates
of East Texas in 1995. Dr. Schreiber is Board Certified by
the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the
Smith County Medical Society, American Medical Association,
Texas Medical Association, the Texas Ophthalmology Association,
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society
of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has served as vice
president of the Smith County Medical Society, and is currently
treasurer of the Texas Ophthalmology Association. He has served
on the board of Prevent Blindness and is currently serving
as vice president.
Dr. Schreiber has stayed abreast of new developments
in ophthalmology by taking numerous courses in cataract, laser,
glaucoma, oculoplastic and refractive surgery. He has also
made several mission trips to Central America to treat the
poor of this region.
Currently, Dr. Schreiber is doing general ophthalmology
with emphasis on cataract and LASIK surgery procedures.
